Our Testimonials

  • “I went to Ben with an old shoulder injury that plays up from time to time, and what with starting to Row regularly it needs to be as well as possible for full maneuverability. After some questioning and muscle manipulation Ben started with a gentle warming massage. He continued with a deep, balancing massage that worked the troubled areas releasing tension and stiffness. I felt very relaxed and safe throughout as the massage worked deeper and in more detail. What I especially liked was the aftercare that identified the muscles that needed strengthening. Ben recommended moves and exercises to work with, empowering me to take control of my body.

I would wholeheartedly recommend Bens open manner for a professional, honest and balanced massage that as well as aiding in recovery also teaches you how to take control of your body.”

  • “A massage from Ben? The best there is! I have been having massages from Ben for five years now and he has helped to keep my body functioning! I have had numerous problems, ranging from neck, shoulder, leg/hip, arms and wrists. Why is he so great? He is very intuitive, knowing where to find problem areas, how to deal with them using the various techniques he has perfected over the years. He has an excellent knowledge of the muscles in the body and how they function. He provides good aftercare advice, stretches, strengthening exercises etc. If you want a  ‘de-stress’ massage, Ben works with a lot of sensitivity allowing you to enjoy the feeling of complete relaxation….you won’t want to move off the massage table! Fantastic!” 🙂

  • “I came to see Ben as I have had shin splints for the past 15 years. X-rays and examinations revealed no obvious structural problems so I had to manage the pain on a daily basis. I play a lot of sport from running, football and am a keen walker so the pain and discomfort was always there and something I had learnt to live with. Previous massage had helped ease the pain but eventually they would return back to there old self’s. I had five sessions with Ben and now I can honestly say my shins are the best they have been for years! I noticed a difference after each session too bad I’m off to Australia.”

  • “I had a car accident in April 2008 and experienced whiplash of medium severity.  I had a series of sessions with Ben over the course of the next few months, in tandem with physiotherapy treatment.  Ben seemed to instinctively know the root of the problem and was able to ease the pain and make me feel more comfortable doing all the normal things I was used to before the accident.  Having massage from Ben sped up my recovery and I now go once in a while even if I’m not injured as it’s such a relaxing thing to do!”

  • “I was in a massive amount of pain. My neck and back muscles had gone into spasm and no amount of drugs seemed to increase my movement. Thanks to Ben I have made a full recovery after a very thorough assessment of my injuries and brilliant treatment . I didn’t realise how powerful deep tissue massage could be. I’m back at work and feeling pain free”

  • “I was trying for the ‘Tough Guy’ and I came in to see Ben at C1 for some sports massage therapy to help with my training. When I came to see him I had shin-splints, some foot pain and plantar fasciitis. After a few treatments these were resolved and I completed the Tough Guy with a personal best. For my next challenge I signed up for my first ever marathon, the Brighton marathon. I kept coming to see Ben during the training and I ran the race in under 4 hours. Without regular treatment I would never have broken the 4 hour barrier; never have run the race as quickly as I did and never have enjoyed it as much. So, what’s next?”

  • “I went to Ben with a slightly apprehensive attitude to acupuncture, unsure if it would help me – but willing to try anything after years of problematic shoulder tension. He made me feel very at ease and happy with the procedure and the results were just amazing – within a moderately small amount of treatments my shoulder is feeling 10x better. Thank you!

  • “I fell and injured my back – and attempted to workout afterwards. Ben Tolson relaxed the muscles cramping my sciatic nerve through massage and relieved the inflammation through acupuncture. In two treatments I feel I am “cured”. I would highly recommend Ben.”
